Dear Mike

If you are not Mike, Just ignore

Dear Mike,
Since you have found my blog, please let me know by COMMENTING on mine. Better yet, create your own. I promise I will read it. I will even pass it around for others to read if you want.

I don't talk much about politics because I am not informed enough to do so. I don't talk about work because, nothing good can come from that. But I do talk about people. Have you seen anything that hits close to home here?

Have a good day,
Prissy

My Baby Benji

In case anyone out there is wondering. Benji made it through his surgical recovery with flying colors. He is back to his bouncing self.

He has gained 8 pounds so he is on a diet. He is not overweight but has been told to not gain anymore. So we have changed his food to dog food lite. It is good for him and he likes it. He is a little disappointed that he cannot have any table scraps. He will live.

He plays ball and goes in the car and runs like crazy. His leg is as good as new. I don't regret the cost although many people have asked about it. Yes it cost a lot. Yes, I went into debt. But this dog is special. I took him on and am fully responsible for him. I am one of the lucky ones that could do this for their dog. I thank God that I am able to take care of him the way he protects me from the garbage man, the UPS man, the Fed ex man, the mail man, the pizza delivery guy and the little 7 year old girl who collects for the paper.

Okay, I am lazy

There, I have said it. My life is not so busy I could not write anything. I have no excuse except for the fact that I just suck.

I have just been tired and a little cynical lately. No one wants to hear anyone bitch all of the time. I am sure there is a pill for it. I just have not gotten one. It is not depression. It is flat out disgust.

I have watched politics until I can't take it anymore. I was devastated that what's his name won the presidential election. My 401K is in the toilet. My car costs too much. And my teenager is, well a teenager.

But no more, The "Debbie Downer" routine is over.

Life with a Lame Dog

No, I am not bashing my dog. Benji is lame. I knew my luck had run out. About a month ago we had to have his ACL (a ligament in the knee you old broad) repaired. I knew when he came up limping it was not good. He had a partial rupture. I have spent the last four weeks working, going to the vet, and fetching for the dog.

I prayed, I had friends pray, I bought glucosamine and chondroitin, and not a bit of it worked. We had to go to the orthopedic doggie surgeon and have a repair. If it wasn't my baby going through it, I would be very impressed with his care.

My dog got better care than many people do. I took home a bound folder of pictures and instructions. I also brought home a lame dog.

For four weeks, I have lifted my 67 pound boxer on and off of the bed. We have massaged the leg. We use ice packs. And still he limps. It is pitiful and it is breaking me down. The doc said it will take 3 month to heal. I feel so bad for him. He wants to get out and run. I of course cannot let him. So I buy squeaky toys for him. It does not work. He wants to play.

They had to shave his leg. Because that is what you do when you have surgery. What I don't understand is the square patch of bare skin on the butt. I don't get it but that's okay. He is going to be okay.

However, one should not fear that I have forgotten that one Broad.

Leverage is a better word

I could not think of the word last night but today it came to me. The word I wanted was leverage. Blackmail is an ugly word and not the one I was looking for. (Though I am not above a little blackmail should the situation call for it) That Broad is a crazy chick. When someone starts talking about posting pics ,a person with things to hide must take action against possible humiliating circumstances.

Yep, I went on the offensive. She immediately got the message. I think we don't have to worry about that one anymore. So I get this text message today telling me to go read a certain blog. It was very James Bond for her. Of course I was intrigued. I expected to see something horrible and was prepared to retaliate in kind. Instead...

She posted her own pic of her haircut! I laugh every time I see it. Now that is a good one. I have to give it to her. I am impressed. Now, you might think I would respond in kind.

FORGET IT, I am still in denial about that whole period in my life. I will never, ever, in a million years post those embarrassing childhood pictures of me.

Still, I believe she issued a challenge in her post......

My Baby is Hurting

A couple of my family members think my dog is a brat. They tell me they can't stand him. ( I know they lie ) My Benji is special. He is smart, fun, and loving. Yes, he does the annoying tongue thing where he tries to lick you.

But today, Benji had to go to the doctor for the second time in a week. He started limping last week and we went to see his Vet. He loves those women in the Vet office. Well, his limp has not resolved itself and we had to go back today for x-rays.

It looks like he has ruptured a ligament in his knee. We will be seeing the Orthopedic Vet next. ( I frippin knew I should have bought doggie health insurance ) Anyway, if he has indeed ruptured his ligament, he will have to have surgery. The surgery is $3000. I will of course get this done. I will charge it and not look back.

My dog is a family member. No, I don't believe he is human. But, I remember all of the times he has protected me from the mail man, garbage man, and pizza delivery guy. He would tear off someone's face if he felt we were threatened. How can I not take care of him? He is a young active boxer with many years ahead of him. I have to do this for him.

There are people who would not do this. But okay, I understand. It is a huge expense that we can't all afford. I am grateful that I have enough credit to get it done. It sucks financially. I mean it reallllly sucks. But what can I do? For now, I just hope he has a strain and not a tear. But knowing what I know, it probably isn't.

Any prayers for Benji's recovery are welcome and appreciated. Yes, I believe in God, I believe that heaven is perfect and I believe that God cares about our loyal companions.

Blackmail

It's such an ugly word

So I am hangin out looking at blogs when I came across a blog written by someone who knows about all of the skeletons in my closet. Here's a hint, she has a seemingly lesbian relationship with a good friend of hers. They do the whole furniture shopping thing together. And have always had a weird fascination with station wagons and Subaru's. I have seen both of them with butch haircuts and have pictures should I need to use them. But I digress.

The girl has all of the goods on me. In a recent post she mentioned buying a scanner and posting pictures. In all fairness, she did not say what pictures she wanted to scan. She just wants to scan some pics. Okay, no problem.

I wanted to respond but decided against it. NO one is actually reading my posts so I feel free to respond here.

It would be a shame to have to post pics of a certain Broad from her youth. We all have those pictures we don't want to get out. I know of a girl who cut her bangs right before picture day. She did not simply cut it, she has less than a half an inch of hair in her picture. The same girl was later photographed in a pair of really groovy plaid pants. You know the ones I mean. The ones with red, brown, green, purple, and yellow.

Here's the deal, you keep my secrets and I will keep yours sister girl. I already have a scanner and with a click your fashionista rep could be gone. I have the goods, and on top of all of that I have a savvy kid who could post your face from a Subaru that no one could prove was photo shopped. Sleep well tonight you old farting broad. I will.

Those little things we do

People have nervous little things we do. Most of mine bug the hell out of me. A co-worker told me that sometimes they ask me something and I get a goofy smile on my face. I am going to tell you why that is, sometimes when I am asked a question I don't want to answer, I can't help but smile at fate for putting me on the spot. Also it buys me time to think of an answer that is honest but not brutal.

From the time I was young, I would laugh at the most inappropriate times. Like the time I was sent to the Vice-Principals office. I giggled like an idiot. Why? Because I was nervous and I knew I was gonna get in trouble for playing cards in math class. I giggled when I got a traffic ticket. It is so embarrasing.

When I went to court for my divorce I could not quit wringing my hands. And now whenever I see my ex, I do the same thing for the first 5 minutes. It's like I know that it is not going to be good.

When I am tired I rub my head, put my hair up, or keep playing with my hair. I don't know why but everynight I do one of these things or a combo. I catch myself doing this alot during the afternoon too.

The one thing my sister and I both do, is randomly break out into song. It has almost happened at work. Here is an example. My daughter tells me a story about a boy she knows and he said he was looking for boots. I immediately start singing, "These boots are made for walking......" She hates it when I do that, and she has made me promise I will not do it in front of that boy when he is here.

It can be anything that brings it on. And it can be a song, a TV theme song or a jingle from a commercial. We don't always know the words either. We think it is funny. What is really stupid is that at times, we will both sing the same song at the same time after the same trigger phrase. It embarrases the kiddos and that makes me laugh. Why have kids if not to embarrass them?

My brother in law noticed it right away. We sing when we hear something that reminds us of a song. It is weird in a way but it is what we do.

I like finding out what quirks others have. It's not weird, we all have things we do. I called my sister a Skank one day in my dad's hearing. He gave me the run down on the skink. (Which I learned is a lizard.) He knew everything there is to know about this lizard. (Please note at one time he taught high school biology)

My dad is the ultimate science nerd. If we talk about the stars we are likely to get an astrology lesson. We love him and he is proud of his nerd status. And yes, he has a pocket protector that he uses daily. Like our singing, my dad can be set off by anything that brings to mind something of the scientific world. Unlike my sister, my dad is very interesting now that I am old enough to appreciate it. ( really, my sis is intersting too.)

Anyway, I get off track. I love watching people. I like watching the habits they have. Some people quote movie lines, some sing, some lecture, some dance, and some act shocked by it all. Those are the ones you really wanna watch. They probably have the best quirks to watch, because they are so appalled at being caught doing them.

Candidates, Taxes, and Us

I love reading about politics and I have definite opinions on what our elected officials are doing. I have a pocket sized copy of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. I try to stay informed.

I don't consider myself an expert or particularly knowledgeable and would not have enough facts to feel comfortable getting into an argument with Hillary Clinton. (But I think I could take that Alan Colmes in a fight.) I don't feel like I am smart enough to write about politics.

However, I have to say something about the upcoming election. Can we PLEASE have a new conservative candidate? Fred Thompson dropped out. He was the last hope for the next four years. I could have been ok with Rudy. Now? I have kinda lost interest.

People at work want to talk about voting and they consider Bush the devil. They don't have any facts to back it up other than we are at war and some mothers baby is going to get killed. One wants a woman because she is a woman (not because she is qualified). No one wants anyone to die in a war. I get that, I don't want anyone I know over there to die either. Sometimes I think we are missing the bigger picture.

I am not promoting war. But I do feel that now, more than ever, the United States needs to present strength. How many times must we be attacked to make it okay to defend? The standard answer is "well Bush lied and Iraq did not do anything to us" OOOKAY. I am not going to get into it.

I ask, what are the changes you want, how much of your paycheck are you willing to give to it, and why are you entitled to live off of someone's else's labor. Answer: Well, Bush lied and on top of that he stole the last two elections. I asked where do you thing rebate money is coming from? They think it is going to be printed at the mint. Are you fucking kidding me? One said and I quote, "I don't care where it is coming from" She doesn't care, she thinks we should just take it from the rich because they get away with hiding their money and we don't.

Maybe the stimulus package is a good idea. Maybe it's not. But at least look beyond your trip to Best Buy and see what it entails. My point? We are becoming a country full of sheep blindly following what we are told to do by the likes of our politicians, media, hollywood, and others. People don't take the time to read the fine print and that is part of the reason we are where we are today. I am not happy either. But at least I have an idea of what I am not happy about.

One lady said to me it is crazy that the Stars make so much money and our teachers don't. I can agree with that. But who has made it so that actors, sports stars and musicians make so much money? WE DO. We shell out $50 to take our family to the movies. We buy all of the sports gear we want. Maybe we should buy our children books instead of ipods, playstations, and other electronic babysitters.

One last thing, I am getting $138 back from my federal taxes, I owe the state $52, and it cost me $60 to file. I am coming out $26 ahead. I know someone who is getting thousands back while she lives off of state assistance. Newsflash toots, we'd all like to stay home and play with our kids, but some people figured out that one thing we need to teach our kids is to be a contributing member of our society by leading by example. Translation, we want to work to pay for the children we CHOSE to bring into this world. And we want to teach our kids to make responsible choices.

I could rant forever and it won't change anything. So for now, I will just let it go.

My Mama

There are things about my mom that you have to know. My mom makes chili. There are always pies in moms freezer. She loves the Harlequin romances. And she likes her TV shows. Which brings me to the point.

My mom's shows are "Murder She Wrote", "Matlock", "Perry Mason", and other old school crime shows of this sort. Mom also loves "Big Brother" and "Deal or No Deal".

Mom recently discovered that she has the Game Show Network. My mom can be found when ever her other shows are not on, watching the Game Show Network. It is really quite cute and I will always remember her watching her game shows. The other day, I came in the room to her watching that one with the Wammys that come up. I also heard her mumbling something about "that dumb blonde bimbo"

Oh yeah, Blondes suck where mom is concerned. They are all bimbos. What does that say about me? I colored my hair darker and she tells me she likes it better blonde. Blonde men are handsome but blonde women are "dumb bimbos".

Mom has very definite ideas about technology. She constantly talks about those computers that she thinks are the work of the devil. She will not pay her bills on line. She does not email. This is actually quite normal for many of her generation.

Mom's saying that I have picked up is "what the sam frappin hell..."

However, one must never underestimate the ability of my mom to manipulate memories to serve her own purpose. Specifically, to this day, she swears that my sister and I caused her to hit another car in the 7-11 parking lot. We did not do anything. She swears to this day, we were fighting in the backseat and she was distracted by us.

Oh well she is a cute little short shit that is always entertaining.

I'm feeling snotty tonight

Who am I kidding I have had a particularly snotty year. I have no excuse. (well I do but I won't discuss it here) Sometimes I get bugged by the dumbest things. Like the fact that in a brand new public women's restroom, the toilet paper roll does not work and you only get a sheet or two at a time. In the same restroom, there are no sanitary napkin disposal things. There is also only one trash can that is half the size of normal kitchen trash cans. Who the hell put this bathroom together? More importantly, who the hell actually paid for it? There are three sinks on two walls and one does not have a mirror on the wall behind it and of course no trash can around it.

Why can't fast food workers get an order of one hamburger and small fries right? Is it really that hard? And what's with the attitude when you tell them they gave you the wrong shit? They can't handle one line in the drive thru and now some places have two order stations for cars to pull up to.

Why do we keep buying things from China when they are poisoning our children? They have poisoned their own rivers and air why do we think the workers over there give a shit about turning out products worth our money?

The elections are coming. All of the possible candidates suck.

Why do welfare recipients get taxes back? How do people get back more than what they paid in? Redistribution of the wealth sucks. No wonder we have so many underachievers. Pretty soon we can all get by on the hard work and backs of the very few willing to work for their education. Thank you to the Clintons of the world for this. It is a great idea to convince people they are entitled to their doctors paycheck and then they are entitled to turn around and sue them for more money. Smart, real smart. How about we redistribute the wealth of Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Danny Glover, and George Clooney. Leave them with $30,000 per year to live on? I'll take some of that.

Can we talk about the blood sucking ambulance chasers that we are subjected to every time we turn on the television? I am tired of hearing how I am entitled to Social Security Disability and that you can get it for me. Or if I am hurt in a car wreck call.... You will get me a gazillion dollars for my bruised butt.

I used to think like many other people that Brittney Spears was completely screwed up. Now I feel sorry for her. I know her antics sell papers. But jeez, leave the girl alone. She is obviously going through her own hell. For her kids sake can we just let the girl rest and get the help she needs?

Can our children be taught to read before you teach them how their parents don't know what they hell they are doing? Can you just teach the kids to read and do math? Do you have to spend half the day on political correctness? Quit brainwashing our children with crap that is not your business and not in your job description. Parents, take control of your kids. Teach them rather then sitting them in front of the TV. Dads, this means you too.

And by the way, What is wrong in believing in God? And for the record, all Catholic Priests are not child molesters. Why do we NEVER hear about the Muslim Clerics who rape little boys? Oh that might not be politically correct. And it is not the agenda of the all knowing press now is it?

Cuban Health care? Quality health care for everyone for free is an illusion at best. Have you seen the hospitals for the real Cubans? Not the ones where Castro goes and where he gives tours to Hollywood stars. But the every day people hospitals. No one on the political front lines has a realistic plan to make it happen. It just sounds good and gives them votes. But they cannot tell you how to make it happen. Something will be sacrificed. It will probably be one of our family members. After all Congress and the President won't be going to a regular hospital. You can count on that.

What ever happened to saying please and thank you to others? And why do people wait outside a door for you to open it when you are leaving so that you can hold it open for them to enter? Why don't people wait for you to get off an elevator before they start shoving their way in? Do people even say excuse me anymore? We have lost our manners. People don't care about pushing and shoving. They don't care about cutting in a line.

Oh well, such is life as we know it. Like I said, I am feeling snotty tonight.

Reasons why men suck

I usually defend men. Really I do. I can go on and on about how the American man has been emasculated by women for the past 40 years. I can tell you how the feministas have ruined men. But that is not what this is about. This is about how stupid they are sometimes. All of them,NO exceptions.

I am so sick of men acting like babies. I don't care how they got that way. It is time for them to stop pouting. I am tired of seeing grown men throw hissy fits at the drop of a hat. And I am sick and tired of the childish names they resort to when they don't get what they want.

In case ya missed it, I am just sick period. This week I have been subjected to men in the throws of tantrums that rival most women on their worst PMS day. I have finally had enough. I have talked on the phone to someone I was once involved with only to hang up and be so thankful he is not my problem anymore. A co-worker had the nerve to talk about women and irrationality. My own brother resorted to male behavior and broke out the 4 little words I will never tolerate in my presence. (Whore, slut, cunt, and stupid) Another man I know and see daily has gone so far to say how dumb women are and what are appropriate things for them to do are.

Every time a man gets mad and they can't talk like a grown up, they break out with the same old thing. All of them do it. ALL OF THEM. You are just kidding yourself or you haven't been ahead of the game in an argument with one of them. Take your pick. When they don't get their way or they can't back up their rhetoric they resort to calling us the same thing.

It is not that I hate men, I don't. Most days, I feel sorry for them and the pressure they are under. BUT, today is not that day. Today, they suck because they have no sense of self preservation. They do not care about feelings. (Or they care so much that it is sickening). Where have all the good ones gone? They must be married. Even the gay ones suck. Now that they are considered every girls fashion accessory the power has gone to their heads. Gay men I know, love to bash others while preaching about acceptance. They love to critique women's clothes, hair, weight, and any other thing they can. Can you practice what ya preach????

NEWSFLASH!! Not all gay men have great fashion sense, and you all are not as hot as you think you are.

To the men out there, get a backbone and some intelligence. Quit name calling. Make an argument. Do something. Quit blaming premenstrual syndrome on YOUR problems. Make a freaking decision when you need to. Stop crying. Get over yourself. Use hair regeneration products when you need to. Pick up your underwear. Get your balls out of your girls purse and try them on. You might like having them back. Take care of your kids. Stop being martyrs. And most of all, when a girl gets her hair done or loses twenty pounds tell her it looks good on her.

Lastly, to the women, stop nagging at them, they truly cannot help it. Set your reasonable boundaries and make them clear. Stop whining and crying. When they get to be too much, just bash them with your friends and go buy a new expensive purse and a tub of Ben and Jerry's to comfort you.
